The Queensland Strata Community Awards for Excellence are almost upon us! It’s set to be a fantastic night to showcase our sector, and I am excited to celebrate our members’ achievements. SCAQ’s continued advocacy to the Government remains a key priority for our team. The Committee Report on the Planning (Inclusionary Zoning Strategy) Amendment Bill 2023 was recently released, with SCAQ's submission to the Committee highlighting the Bill’s flaws and our concerns. The Property Law Bill 2023 was passed this week, with many members of Parliament mentioning SCAQ’s submission in the same breath as organisations like the Real Estate Institute of Queensland, the Queensland Law Society, and the Local Government Association of Queensland.
